A MAN and boy walked away from a dramatic motor glider crash in Bangholme yesterday afternoon.
CFA spokesman Keith Pakenham said the pair climbed out of a side window and walked away with ‘‘very minor’’ injuries after their glider crashed in long grass in Soden Road.
He said the glider had engine difficulties as it approached Moorabbin Airport from the south.
‘‘The plane attempted to land but was flipped over on its nose as it came to rest.’’
The man and boy were assisted by a helicopter crew that had followed the glider into Moorabbin Airport, and the property owner who saw the glider crash as he sat in his tractor.
