Super kick-off at Keysborough

KEYSBOROUGH Superules club is gearing up for a new season and intends to field teams in both Superules (35 years and over) and Masterules (40 years and over) competitions.
Teams were first formed in 1984 and the football is played for fun and fitness, with games every second Sunday.
This allows old bodies time to recover, as well as providing the opportunity for players to watch the AFL or spend time with family without a commitment every weekend.
This year Rod Gillet will coach the Superules team and the Masterules side will be in the care of Jim Logan.
Training is suited to players’ stage of life and unduly rough play is not tolerated in the competition.
A strong emphasis is placed on family involvement with regular social activities and there is the opportunity to represent Victoria at an end-of-year carnival.
This year, the carnival will be held in Maroochydore, Queensland.
Pre-season training for Superules and Masterules teams is held on Sunday mornings at 10am and Wednesday evenings at 6pm.
The enthusiasm surrounding Superules is part of a positive push by Keysborough Football Club to put last year’s tough season behind it.
Keysborough will boast 10 teams ranging from under-nines to Superules and will also field several netball teams this year.
President Clay Cullen said the club was moving forward and actively seeking new members, in particular netballers and a netball coach.
Anyone interested in playing football can contact Cullen on 0425 754 512 or, for Superules and Masterules, David Butten on 0414 251 474, while the 2006 netball co-ordinator is Bob Beasley who can be contacted on 0417 598 436.
