
THE Melbourne Tigers Youth League team is set to launch its assault on the Big V basketball competition this season.
The team has secured the Oakleigh Recreation Centre in Park Road, Oakleigh, as the venue for all its Saturday night home games.
With a 12-man team chosen from 40 potential players, the Melbourne Tigers Junior Basketball Club is renowned for developing and nurturing young athletes and this group is no exception.
Exciting prospect Adrian Sturt, a 211-centimetre (six foot, 11 inches) forward is already training with the Melbourne Tigers NBL team and has been approached by several colleges in the United States.
Tigers’ head coach Nick Abdicevic said the team was looking forward to a successful season.
“We have an excellent group of players and look forward to gaining valuable experience in the men’s division of the Big V league,” he said.
