AN impromptu painting competition and free jazz music will entertain people’s senses at this weekend’s Painting on the Hill event in Dandenong.
Hosted at Langhorne Street’s Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens, the Sunday event will kick off at noon, with artists registering on the day.
Artists are encouraged to draw on their Heritage Hill surroundings for inspiration, and the winner will receive $1000 cash courtesy of the Dandenong Club.
Former Australian Idol star and Video Hits presenter Axle Whitehead will entertain the crowd with a jazz performance while artists battle it out across various art mediums.
City of Greater Dandenong mayor Peter Brown said the day was aimed at families.
“(The event) will not only provide local artists an opportunity to shine on the day, music lovers will also benefit from the free concert,” he said.
