THE EasterNats was a hit, but with more than 700 cars entered in the event it was destined to be big from the start.
Not even light rain could stop people from attending this year, only delaying the start time until 10.30am on Saturday, leaving fans more eager than ever before.
Once the track was open, it didn’t take long for the smoke to cover Sandown.
The burnout event was a hit with more than 90 cars taking to the track, however some drivers opted to wait for Sunday for a drier surface.
Sunday produced both a larger field of contestants and a bigger crowd.
The Go-To-Whoa, in which cars had to time their braking to stop on a line, was a highlight, with some drivers leaving it too late and missing.
The second round of burnouts saw more than 150 hungry motorists vying for a finals spot on Monday.
The final day, Monday, saw a large number of drag race contestants. Spectators packed the grandstand for the burnout finals, with top honours going to Peter Grey.
After a satisfying weekend of performance entertainment, everyone left to gear up for next year’s event.
