Forums for safer roads

A NEW road policing strategy will allow Greater Dandenong police to target traffic problems specific to the region.
Under the new policy, police will hold road traffic forums with the community, where problems will be identified by residents, community groups and local MPs, and then tasked by traffic police.
Chief Commissioner Christine Nixon saidresponsibility would now lie with regional commanders, not the Traffic and Transport Services Department.
