FIRE officers are investigating the cause of a house fire from which a Springvale South family fled last week.
At 8.45pm on Friday 16 June firefighters were called to the blaze in Leons Street, Springvale South.
Springvale firefighters were first on the scene and began to extinguish the flames which were in a second storey bedroom.
Further units including a Metropolitan Fire Brigade pumper attended the scene as fire fighters gained control of the blaze.
They then used “aqua-vacs” to soak up water from the scene in an attempt to minimise water damage.
Firefighters said the home’s occupants escaped without injury.
