Store buys into diabetes research

A DANDENONG clothing store will officially launch a Diabetes Australia donation centre this month.
Savers on Lonsdale Street will accept clothing and bric-a-brac donations onsite.
The goods will be sold to raise money for Diabetes Australia, the nation’s peak body for diabetes research.
People wanting to drop off clothing and bric-a-brac can drive up to the shop, ring a bell and get assistance from Savers staff, who will collect the goods.
To celebrate the initiative Savers and Diabetes Australia are having a grand opening on Friday, 28 July with entertainment and giveaways.
The event will run from noon to 4pm at the Savers store, 210 Lonsdale Street.
Diabetes Australia estimates that more than a million Australians have either type-one or type-two diabetes, many of whom are unaware they have the condition.
