FIVE people were injured when two cars collided on Heatherton Road in Springvale last Thursday night.
The 18yearold male driver of a Subaru WRX and his two male passengers, aged 18 and 20, were taken to Dandenong Hospital.
The driver and passenger of the other car were taken to Monash Medical Centre.
Senior Constable David Fitzgerald from the police media unit said each of the people involved in the crash sustained serious but nonlife threatening injuries.
The cars collided about 9pm on a straight and dry section of the road.
The Subaru was travelling west along Heatherton Road.
The Dandenong Traffic Management Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Springvale Fire Brigade attended the scene, along with the Dandenong Fire Brigade’s Rescue Unit, which was required to open a jammed car door.
Four ambulances also attended.
