A BOOK detailing the journey of Vietnamese boat people to Australia will be launched at Springvale Library this month.
Author Wendy Orr will sign copies of, and read, her latest novel Across the Dark Sea on Friday, 27 October at 1.30pm.
Ms Orr was commissioned by the National Museum to write Across the Dark Sea for the museum’s Making Tracks series of books.
She received help from the Vietnamese community while researching her book and will give a public reading this month.
Local school groups will attend the reading, and the Victorian Multicultural Commision’s Vivienne Nguyen will give a speech about Vietnamese migrants in Australia.
Springvale Library is at 411 Springvale Road, Springvale.
