Charity ball has spirit

GREATER Dandenong residents can put on their dancing shoes for a good cause next month.
The Mayoral Charity Dinner Dance will this year raise much-needed funds for the Dandenong and District Benevolent Society and the Springvale Benevolent Society.
Greater Dandenong mayor Angela Long said the event was a wonderful way for the community to help the valuable organisations to continue their important work.
“The Dandenong and District Benevolent Society and the Springvale Benevolent Society are operated entirely by dedicated volunteers, and survive solely on donations and grants to provide the crucial assistance to offer hope and support to those in need,” she said.
“All the proceeds from the event will go directly towards assisting these vital organisations to provide food, clothing and aid to families and individuals in crisis in the Greater Dandenong area.
“The Mayoral Charity Dinner Dance is a fantastic way for the people of Greater Dandenong to rally together in support of those that are less fortunate.
“It is guaranteed to be an evening rich in community spirit and I encourage our residents and local business to come together for these great causes.”
Tickets are $60 per person and include a three-course meal, beer, wine and soft drink, live entertainment, raffles and door prizes.
The Mayoral Charity Dinner Dance kicks off at 7pm on Saturday 17 August at the Springvale Town Hall, 397-405 Springvale Road, Springvale.
