SCORCHING temperatures definitely put the “summer” into Springvale’s Summer Community Festival at Burden Park on the weekend.
As temperatures neared 40 on Saturday, the majority of the crowd waited until the sun went down and the mercury retreated before enjoying the free entertainment.
Culturally diverse food stalls once again proved a hit, as did the talent quest, live music and the fear-inducing amusement rides.
But the highlight of the night was the fireworks, the biggest pyrotechnic display in Springvale all year.
