NOT many soccer players could boast they scored a goal in every match of a season.
However for Keysborough Soccer Club under 13 Michael Siegrist, the idea of scoring goals every week is a dream that has come true.
The 13-year-old striker said his team lost only one game for the season, but still didn’t win the premiership.
“Frankston Pines went through undefeated,” he said.
“They beat us once, then we drew, but that meant we finished second.”
The goal-kicking star notched up 55 goals in 16 games for his side, averaging more than three-and-a-half goals per game.
“I did get a lot of goals, but that’s my job as the striker,” he said.
The year seven student from Parkdale Secondary College wowed even himself the day he scored a double hat trick, six goals.
“That was good,” he said.
Siegrist now has the chance to try out for the Victorian Soccer Federation’s junior academy, a program designed with future stars in mind.
“There are three try-out sessions – we have completed two and I think I’m doing pretty well,” he said.
“If I make it, our academy will play other academy sides, that would be a great chance to play good soccer.”
