DANDENONG charity Cornerstone will open its doors to provide free meals and a social environment for the city’s poor and lonely residents this Easter.
Cornerstone CEO and Pastor Max Walker said Easter, like other family celebrations, left some people in the cold.
“For many, Easter is a very lonely and depressing time with major agencies closed and little opportunity for people to gather,” he said.
Mr Walker said Cornerstone, on the corner of Mason and Walker streets, Dandenong, would be open on Good Friday for its normal drop-in lunch.
He said the Saturday night program would operate as usual from 7pm to 10pm.
But as part of the Easter celebration, Cornerstone will open its doors from 8am on Easter Sunday with a traditional English breakfast on offer.
It will remain open until 11am.
