Man dies in Noble Park house fire

Police are preparing a coroner’s report over the death of an elderly man in a house fire in Noble Park on Monday last week. Police said the blaze at the Corrigan Road home was not suspicious. Emergency crews were called to the house at 10.18pm after neighbours noticed smoke coming from the roof. Country Fire Authority crews arrived soon after to find the home well alight and the man unconscious. An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the man had suffered severe burns and could not be revived at the scene. The house was destroyed. Police would not release man’s name.
