Knife-point robbery in Dandenong

A man was threatened with a knife during a peak-hour robbery in the centre of Dandenong’s busy central business district on Monday last week. Police say a 45-year-old Carrum Downs man was approached in Lonsdale Street by four men of African appearance near Webster Street bridge about 8.30am. One member of the group, described as 190 centimetres and wearing a silver suit jacket, produced a knife and demanded cash, while another attacker, who was bare-torsoed, took the victim’s wallet. The victim was then kicked in the back. The other two assailants involved in the armed robbery were wearing dark T-shirts.
