Reigning Victorian Premier League champions Dandenong Thunder got their new season off to a slow start on Saturday night. The Thunder drew 0-0 with Southern Stars at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex. The result is a surprise as the Stars are expected to struggle this season. Both sides had late chances to score but couldn’t find a way to goal and had to settle for a point each. The Thunder host Bentleigh Greens at George Andrews Reserve this Saturday night with the match expected to be the first of five “no crowd” matches for the Thunder.
