DANDENONG Police have busted a motorist almost four times the legal blood-alcohol limit travelling at 145km/h in an 80km/h zone in Hallam.
The bust is part of the ongoing Operation Nighthawk, a Region Five Traffic Tasking Unit crackdown on speeding motorists in Casey and Greater Dandenong.
Police said a majority of the bookings had so far occurred in and around the Doveton and Dandenong parts of the Monash Freeway
Police have impounded four cars discovered speeding on the Monash, including one as a result of a pursuit through Dandenong South.
Police detected a car doing 145km/h in an 80km/h zone on Princes Highway, Hallam, on 15 April. The driver had a blood-alcohol concentration of .193 per cent.
Police said Operation Nighthawk would continue and they warned speeding motorists that they would lose their vehicles.
