A man was bashed and robbed outside the Waltzing Matilda Hotel in Heatherton Road in Springvale early last Thursday.
As he walked to his car parked at the hotel just after midnight, the man was struck unconscious due a blow to the back of his head.
His mobile phone and wallet were stolen.
