A COUNCIL draft review into Greater Dandenong’s southern green wedge areas in Bangholme and Keysborough South is expected to be unveiled in early 2014.
City planning director Jody Bosman said the “extensive” public consultation in July included 830 mailouts, as well as workshops involving 18 of the area’s largest landholders, and drop-in sessions.
He said 56 of the 91 written submissions nominated “environmental values and biodiversity” as their chief interest.
Other popular wants were to protect remnant vegetation, to revegetate with indigenous flora, and a community promotion of the area’s environmental significance.
Seven submitters didn’t consider the green wedge to have any environmental value, Mr Bosman said.
