New jurisdiction for Pakula

By CAMERON LUCADOU-WELLS

NEWLY-elected Lyndhurst MP Martin Pakula has lost his seat – at least in name.
Mr Pakula’s district was abolished by the Electoral Boundaries Commission after a review of state electorate boundaries was finalised last week.
Mr Pakula is now the MP for the newly-created Keysborough district, which moves his electorate boundaries west into City of Kingston.
He loses constituents in Dandenong South, Lyndhurst, Lynbrook and Hampton Park but retains constituents in Noble Park, Keysborough, Springvale and Springvale South.
Mr Pakula had won the seat in an April by-election following the resignation of the former Lyndhurst MP Tim Holding.
Under the review, Dandenong MP John Pandazopoulos’s seat grows, stretching southwards over Dandenong South to Bangholme Road.
