STUDENTS were evacuated from Springvale Secondary College last week after the school received what it believed was a bomb threat.
Dandenong Police said a receptionist at the school took a call at 2.05pm on Thursday 6 December.
“The receptionist was led to believe that there was a bomb within the school grounds,” Detective Senior Constable Stuart Freeman said.
“As a precautionary measure the school cleared students and staff (to an oval).”
Springvale Police attended the Sandown Road school and scoured it for explosive devices, but found nothing.
Police are now investigating the hoax and are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward and call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous if they wish.
