THE Greater Dandenong Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) has benefitted from AAMI’s equipment handover program.
AAMI’s equipment handover program has been running since 2002 and provides VICSES units with new equipment every year.
The unit received a marquee to support their community activities.
Greater Dandenong unit members Shane Bolton and Paul Daniel collected their unit’s gear.
Paul has been a volunteer with VICSES for over four years and is also an active volunteer with Red Cross.
VICSES volunteers work to educate and prepare their communities for hazards and perform accredited training year-round to keep their skills sharp.
AAMI has contributed more than $5 million to VICSES, providing the equipment to volunteers and supporting community awareness campaigns such as StormSafe Week.
The volunteers within the Central Region of VICSES attended the Mulgrave Regional Headquarters on Monday 27 July to receive the equipment as part of the ongoing partnership with AAMI.
