STUDENTS at St Mary’s Primary School in Dandenong swapped their yellow and blue uniforms for gold and brown this week.
Representatives from Hawthorn Football Club visited the school, and showed off the AFL premiership cup won this year.
Deputy principal Di Taranto said the students were excited to meet the players and learn about the cup.
“A couple of the kids dressed up and sang the theme song,” Ms Taranto said. “It was all very exciting.”
She said students were given a brief history of the origins of the cup, and where it was kept at Hawthorn. “It was a really great day,” Ms Taranto said.
