Residents grab would-be burglar

Greater Dandenong residents thwarted would-be burglars in two separate incidents that occurred just minutes apart.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Christine Johnstone said the first occurred in Elmbank Drive, Keysborough, about 3.30pm on Monday 11 September.
The residents were home when a 14-year-old boy allegedly jumped a fence and tried to enter the house.
They grabbed the boy and held him until police arrived.
Det Sen Const Johnstone said he was released pending charges.
About 5pm the same night, police allege a 22-year-old Springvale man tried entered a home in Wareham Street, Springvale.
Three people were home and called police when they saw the man.
He was charged and bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 10 November.
