BURDEN PARK’S Royal Victorian Bowls Association Premier side played at home against the more favoured Melbourne and failed by five shots to lose 97-92.
The second side on Saturday continued its good form, beat Mulgrave Country Club 88-84.
In a game that was won with the last bowl of the day, the third side failed by a shot against Cranbourne RSL 85-84.
The up and down season of the fourth side was back up, this week travelling to Oakleigh to win 94-89.
After last week’s win the fifth side celebrated again with another resounding win, this time against Mordialloc 99-72.
After two defeats last weekend the sixth side bounced back with a strong victory over Monbulk 103-76.
All three of Burden Park’s Victorian Ladies’ Bowls Association (VLBA) sides won this week.
The top VLBA pennant team defeated Mentone 112-74, with skip Jan Bourke, Joan Grant, Shirley Mitchell and Aileen scoring a huge 45-18 win.
In an up and down season, the second side this week won 102-94 against Berwick.
The third side was again far too good for Brighton Beach and won 71-53.
