POLICE have arrested and charged a man in relation to an aggravated burglary and the assault and attempted rape of a 55yearold woman in Dandenong last Thursday.
Detective Senior Constable Dean Hayes of Dandenong CIU said the 32yearold forced his way into a Hutton Street home at around 3.20pm. He said the female received minor injuries before the man fled.
The man was arrested and interviewed hours later and was charged with one count of aggravated burglary, and one count of assault with intent to rape.
The man has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court 14 October.
