It’s the time to give

CHRISTMAS cheer came early to some of Greater Dandenong’s most vulnerable children, thanks to the generosity of locals workers.
Social club members from the Dandenong Australian Tax Office (ATO) donated more than 170 gifts during what has become an annual event for families and children in the city.
The City of Greater Dandenong’s Family Support and Counselling team were on hand to deliver the gifts, assisted by more than 30 ATO employees who were keen to show their support for the city’s needy families as the holiday season approached.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Roz Blades said while the practice of gift-giving ensured that children were able to experience the joy of opening a present under the Christmas tree, the gesture was also an important way of demonstrating to needy families that their community cares.
“The annual partnership between the council and the ATO highlights just one of many ways local organisations are working together for the benefit of the local community,” she said.
