SANDOWN took the points over the Southern Dragons, 13.17 (95) to 6.12 (48), in their Southern Football League Division 3 match at Edinburgh Reserve.
The Cobras easily accounted for the Dragons, steadily increasing the margin to 47 points. Russell Weeding slotted four goals for Sandown.
LYNDALE saw off the Redlegs with a comfortable 13.12 (90) to 9.7 (61) win on Dandenong’s Greaves Reserve.
Dandenong had the better of the first half, taking a six-point lead at the main break, before the Pumas found their legs in the second half.
Jason and Leigh Mead snagged five goals between them for Lyndale, with Dandenong falling away to be beaten by 29 points. Chris Hatfield and Ben Maclean were best for the Redlegs, while Adam Read and Glenn Krepp were excellent for Lyndale.
DOVETON took the points over the new Endeavour Hills Falcons, in a hard fought 15.11 (101) to 11.15 (81) victory.
The Eagles jumped the gun in the first quarter, kicking 10 goals to one in a dominant display that suggested a rout was on.
Despite the 69 to 27 scoreline at half time, the Falcons continued to persevere, kicking eight second-half goals to Doveton’s four. Doveton’s Braydon Keown was best afield.
After Easter the Redlegs go to Endeavour Hills, Lyndale face the Southern Dragons at Keeley Park, Doveton takes on Mount Waverley at home, while Sandown heads to Moorabbin.
