Sergeant Allen Inderwisch will be a new face at Greater Dandenong next week.
HE HAS been the face behind countless road safety campaigns in Casey, but now Sergeant Allen Inderwisch will be taking his pro-active approach to Greater Dandenong.
The valuable member of the Casey Highway Patrol was promoted from Leading Senior Constable to Sergeant on 23 May and will transfer to the Dandenong Police Station on 29 May.
“I am going to miss the City of Casey but I am looking forward to the challenge of being a supervisor and dealing with new issues in a new area,” Lead Sen Con Inderwisch said.
Prior to beginning his role at Casey in 2005, Leading Sen Con Inderwisch worked in Morwell and Sale.
He has been the driving force behind numerous police operations, including Operation Care – and Operation Juno. Operation Care is a highly visible roadblock-style operation targeting traffic and crime related offences, including drug trafficking, smuggling of stolen goods, unlicensed and drink drivers and motorists not wearing seatbelts.
Operation Juno is aimed at detecting speeding drivers in school zones.
Sgt Inderwisch said he would continue his push for road safety in Greater Dandenong.
“One thing I have identified in Dandenong is an increasing number of pedestrian related collisions,” he said.
“In my new role, I will be looking at trying to tackle this issue and trying to reduce collisions.”
Casey Inspector Andrew Miles said Sgt Inderwisch was a “terrific contributor” to the Casey Highway Patrol and the wider community.
“His efforts have contributed to the reduction of road trauma within the City of Casey,” Insp Miles said.
“We will miss him at Casey and we wish him all the best in his new role in the City of Greater Dandenong.”
