JENNA O’Hea, who started with the Dandenong Rangers and is now with the Bulleen Bullets, will return to the Rangers for the 2011/12 Women’s National Basketball League season.
O’Hea, who was with the Rangers in 2005-’06 and 2006-’07, has spent the past four seasons in the WNBL playing for Bulleen. She is presently in America, playing her rookie season with the Los Angeles Sparks in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
O’Hea adds to an already impressive Rangers roster, with fellow Australian Opals squad members, Kathleen Macleod and Steph Cumming, also being re-signed.
“I feel the time has come for a change,” O’Hea said. “I look forward to the new opportunities and challenges, both on and off the court, with the Dandenong Rangers.”
In other signing news, the Rangers added to their roster international players Krista Phillips and Brittany Williams.
Phillips is a 1.98m centre from Canada, who recently played for Burgas in Spain’s LF2 league. Williams, a power-forward/centre from Nebraska in the United States, returns to Australia, having played in 2007-’08 for the Adelaide Lightning in the WNBL and playing in Europe since.
