Games king calls for goals – Michael Woods, SEBN manager Sandra George and Leanne McCready. 66334

By Lia Bichel
HE IS only 23, but Michael Woods has done more than many successful business people do in a lifetime.
The young entrepreneur spoke about his rise to success using new social media at a recent South East Business Networks Women in Business lunch.
Michael studied at RMIT and is currently a principal at Media Saints; columnist at MX Newspaper, and a director of B1GLeague.
He is also the youngest member of the CEO Institute, and has been called the next Kerry Packer.
Mr Woods spends a lot of time travelling the world connecting people through his gaming empire – and shows no sign of stopping any time soon.
And why?
“I’m good at it,” he said.
“But I worked hard to get to where I am today. It has been an exciting journey although stressful at time.”
There are currently 14 people employed at Mr Woods’s business, and it is growing so fast that he is employing about one new staff member every three to four weeks.
Mr Woods said he hoped to continue expanding the company and build on his success.
He encouraged everyone at the lunch to write down a goal and commit themselves to achieving it.
Also speaking at the lunch was Leanne McCready, retail development co-ordinator for the City of Greater Dandenong.
Ms McCready spoke about the transformation of Dandenong through the completion of Lonsdale Street, the George Street Bridge and the new market.
She said food tours, Melbourne’s Food and Wine Festival and television programs such as Coxy’s Big Break contributed to Dandenong’s recognition as a premier cultural food destination.
“Dandenong has become the place to be for great food,” she said.
