TICKETS are screaming out the door for a St Johns Old Collegians Football Club’s event next week.
The Screaming Jets are headlining the footy fundraiser and will be supported by coverband Dr Nick. St Johns Old Collegians president John Fitzpatrick said organisers were hoping for a big crowd on the night.
“We’d really like 300 plus to come and tickets are selling pretty quickly.”
One of the club’s committee members knows a Screaming Jets band member and Mr Fitzpatrick said the club took advantage of the connection.
“The club has a connection with the Screaming Jets so we thought it would be a good way to introduce ourselves to the community,” he said. “They were happy to play for us.”
Mr Fitzpatrick said the club was looking to reach out to the club’s community, as well as people not connection to the St Johns Old Collegians Football Club. The over-18 event will be held on Saturday 27 August at St Johns College Hall, 5 Caroline Street, Dandenong. Tickets are $35 and are on sale from the St Johns Old Collegians Football Club clubrooms, online at www.stjohnsocfc.com.au or from the Albion Hotel, Dandenong. All money raised will go towards the general expenses of the club.
