Wheel deal for shoppers

A NEW courtesy bus is a wheel deal for Greater Dandenong shoppers this week.
The City of Greater Dandenong has replaced an older model bus used to transport people to the Dandenong Plaza with a new, air-conditioned model.
The service is now in its 11th year and takes shoppers from Dandenong Station to a variety of shopping points, including Dandenong Market and Dandenong Plaza. It also stops at the Dandenong Hospital and Ramada Encore Hotel.
The new bus has a snazzy paint job that features key sites around the city. The council said that about 44,000 passengers a year used the free service.
“They will be pleased to find that not only does the new bus look great, but it is air-conditioned,” a council spokesman said.
The mayor, Cr Youhorn Chea, said in a statement from the council that the bus was an ideal way to get around Dandenong for a day’s shopping.
The round-trip route operates from the station every 30 minutes from 9.15am to 5.15pm, Monday to Saturday.
