Your chance to help save a life

HELP save lives this month when the Australian Red Cross Blood Service comes to Dandenong.
Giving blood is the easiest way to give the gift of life this winter with demand for the vital fluid high.
The City of Greater Dandenong council this week revealed that the Red Cross service would be coming to St Mary’s Community Centre in New Street, Dandenong, on 25 and 26 July.
In a statement, the council urged residents to give blood.
“If you’re a new donor, now is a great time to start giving blood. Many people would not be alive today if it was not for the kindness of donors,” it said.
“One in three Australians will need blood at some stage in their lifetime, yet only about 3.5 per cent of the eligible population donate.”
“You may not ever need a life-saving donation yourself, but someone you love might. For such a special gift – the gift of life – it is a simple thing to do.”
To donate, visit St Mary’s Community Centre between 1.15 and 7.30pm on Wednesday 25 July or Thursday 26 July.
