RESIDENTS will soon be able to administer a dose of public scrutiny to Greater Dandenong’s 2006/07 council budget when it is is opened to public comment next week.
The documents and their details have this year been subject to tough confidentiality rules, but will be revealed at the forthcoming council meeting on May 8, when council is expected to adopt the budget for public comment.
The budget will then be advertised for public comment from 11 May, with 26 May being the final date for residents’ submissions.
Councillors are then expected to adopt the final 2006/07 budget on 5 June.
