Hammer attack

THE woman who came to the aid of a man hit twice over the head with a hammer in a Dandenong park last week is being urged to contact police.
The 19-year-old was at the Skate Park in Hemmings Park on Princes Highway last Wednesday (15 February) when he was approached by four men.
Police said one of the men was holding a hammer and struck the victim twice on the head.
The four men, believed to be of European appearance, then left the scene in a white Mitsubishi Magna with P plates.
A woman comforted the victim before he was taken to the Valley Private Hospital where he was treated for head injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses and for the woman who came to the aid of the victim to come forward.
Contact Detective Senior Constable Mark Van Rooyen at Dandenong CIU on 9787 7487 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
