GREATER Dandenong residents are invited to trade their old showerheads for new three-star water-efficient models at Dandenong Market on Saturday as part of South East Water’s free showerhead exchange program.
The exchange program is part of the State Government move to encourage environmentally friendly water use throughout Victoria.
It is estimated more than 260,000 water-efficient showerheads will be distributed across the state over the next three years as part of the program.
Greater Dandenong mayor Youhorn Chea said residents in the area should take advantage of the free offer.
“You could reduce your annual household water and energy bills by as much as $60 and save up to 20,000 litres of water per household per year,” Cr Chea said.
Residents who want to take advantage of the offer need to bring their old showerheads and a copy of their water bill to the market.
A maximum of three showerheads will be exchanged per household.
