WITH less than 10 weeks before nominations close, prospective council candidates are being asked to attend information sessions about the role of local government.
Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) president Geoff Lake, who is also a City of Monash councillor, said anyone considering running for the 54 councils facing elections in November needed to start preparing their campaigns.
The MAV is presenting free information sessions for prospective candidates, with a session being held at the Greater Dandenong City Council Chamber in Springvale on Wednesday, 7 September at 7pm in meeting rooms one and two.
