TAXATION employees are hoping a donation of more than 180 presents will brighten the lives of the City of Greater Dandenong’s most disadvantaged residents.
Employees at the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) in Dandenong were in a giving mood last week when they donated more than 180 presents to disadvantaged families in the city.
The ATO has been in partnership with the City of Greater Dandenong’s family services department for more than 20 years now, with the ATO social club providing the gifts for the council to distribute.
The partnership has seen hundreds of people in the city receive presents. City of Greater Dandenong mayor John Kelly praised the ATO social club and the council’s family services unit for their goodwill and Christmas spirit.
“The ATO’s social club members have shown their kindness and generosity for so long by donating toys for this initiative,” Cr Kelly said.
“Recognition must also go to the council’s family services unit, which carries out the important work of coordinating the allocation and distribution of gifts.
“The festive season is a time of sharing. With this in mind, it’s wonderful to see that people are willing to give back to the community in an effort to spread Christmas cheer among those less fortunate.”
