PREMIER Steve Bracks will officially open the new Drum Theatre in the Dandenong Town Hall.
Work on the $13.5 million project is set for completion later this year, but The City of Greater Dandenong wants to delay the official opening to fit in with Mr Bracks’ plans.
Greater Dandenong CEO Carl Wulff said the twobuilding project was drawing to a close, and bookings for the venue were already flooding in.
“It’s booked for 150 days in 2006, which is a good starting year for the facility.”
Among the acts booked include a Bell Shakespeare performance, Jackie Weaver’s show The Blond, The Brunette and the Vengeful Redhead, and Hotel Sorrento starring Kevin Harrington.
