ONE of Keysborough’s long-standing catholic schools last week celebrated the refurbishment of several major facilities.
As part of a Federal Government funding package, Keysborough’s Resurrection Primary School had a major facelift in its administration area, canteen, toilet amenities and school hall.
Deputy principal Brian Martin said the school’s 270 students, from prep to grade six, were all rapt with the school’s new, modern feel.
“It has lightened up our entrance area,” he said.
“We also had the unveiling statue at the time and that has caused a lot of interest.”
The statue is of Mary and baby Jesus and Mr Martin said it was a central piece in the school’s foyer.
Mr Martin said the improvements were needed in the 30-year-old school to keep its warm feeling for parents, staff and students.
“We are a very family friendly school,” he said.
