A PREGNANT woman was rushed to hospital following a car crash and a young man is dead in what has been a busy week on local roads for Dandenong CFA crews.
Dandenong CFA rescue crews attended a single car collision in Doveton where a 20-year-old man died on Monday night.
The collision occurred about 8.10pm on Power Road, approximately 400 metres north of the Princes Highway.
Police believe the Commodore sedan was travelling north when it lost control and hit a power pole.
The male driver was the only occupant in the car and died at the scene.
Police have not released the name of the deceased.
In another crash, a woman, who was seven months pregnant, was rushed to Dandenong Hospital for observation after a collision between two cars in Dandenong South last week.
At approximately 2.15am on Sunday, 18 December, a Holden Commodore and Ford sedan collided at the intersection of Frankston-Dandenong Road and Greens Road, Dandenong South.
Senior constable Simon Miller said two male occupants in the Ford sedan were taken to Dandenong Hospital with cuts and bruises to their heads after both hit the windscreen on impact.
Sen Const Miller said the woman was released from hospital after observation.
Meanwhile, at approximately 12.45am on Friday, 16 December, Dandenong CFA Rescue and Rescue Support crews were called to free a learner driver trapped in a Nissan sedan along Heatherton Road, near James Cook Drive in Endeavour Hills.
She was taken to Dandenong Hospital for treatment.
Other occupants, a male and two younger children, were not trapped in the collision, and were treated at the scene by paramedics.
