LIVE power line proved a challenge for local fire crews as they battled a house fire in Dandenong North this week.
The fire broke out at 11.35pm on Sunday at the Rosemont Court house and crews from Dandenong and Noble Park rushed to extinguish the flames.
Firefighters said their initial call came through as “persons trapped” and although no one was home when they arrived, they found a dead dog in the living room. It had died of smoke inhalation.
A power line had burnt through at its connection point with the home and dropped onto the front lawn.
Firefighters had to create a barrier around the live area while continuing to battle the flames.
The fire itself proved little challenge for fire crews, but the cause is still under investigation.
