THOSE who haven’t already secured a ticket to Saturday’s Women’s National Basketball League grand final between the Dandenong Rangers and the Canberra Capitals are too late.
The Dandenong Basketball Stadium has been completely sold out and only a small number of standing room tickets remain.
Marketing manager Lisa Lawler said a seating sellout was declared at lunchtime on Monday.
“It was certainly the quickest sellout ever at Dandenong,” she said.
The boom in ticket sales was attributed to the popularity of the Rangers in Dandenong and the fact that WNBL superstar Lauren Jackson would be playing.
Ms Lawler said a lot of people that missed out on Commonwealth Games basketball tickets were coming to the game to see something just as good and for a lot cheaper.
The stadium floor will hold more than 2200 spectators and 300 more are expected to be standing upstairs.
“We will have live big-screen coverage of the ABC telecast and there is window space to watch the game live,” she said.
