Handbreak brings rapid turnaround

A RAPID turnaround when driving at full speed can only happen when you apply the handbrake.
That’s the philosophy behind Handbrake Turn, a program run by Concern Australia in Dandenong to help young people on the road to uncertainty turn around their lives to drive ahead in a more prosperous direction.
So it was without saying that graduates from last term’s program, who learnt a variety of motor mechanical and car body work skills, took to the Le Mans Go Karting circuit in Waterview Close, Dandenong South, to unwind before their graduation earlier this month.
The graduates spend a term learning skills while rebuilding a car, which they later donate to a worthy recipient from within the Greater Dandenong community.
