WATERFILLED barriers at a road construction site in Keysborough saved a man from injury on Tuesday night.
The driver of a Mazda Astina walked away from the wreck at the corner of Cheltenham and Bridge Roads at 7.30pm.
The car hit the waterfilled road construction barriers before crashing into the steel barriers behind.
The barriers were up on Cheltenham Rd to allow for construction work on the Eastlink project.
The road was reduced to one lane each way.
The Dandenong CFA pumper was called to check for a fuel discharge but was not needed.
