Who is the greatest unsigned act to rock Greater Dandenong? The answer is one step closer to being determined after last weekend’s Muso Network 2006 Battle of the Bands heat two.
The Muso Network’s Iolanda Di Biase was on scene to report for Star.
HEAT TWO of Muso Network’s 2006 Battle of the Bands opened with local sensations Over Driver, a Berwick act.
Lead singer Peter said The Castle, Greater Dandenong’s newest youth venue, was an excellent place with great service for bands and an awesome atmosphere for the Battle crowd.
“The sound is amazing and the Muso Network really look after the bands,” he said.
The line-up of bands on the night included Amune System, Picket Fence Massacre, The Posers, The Quick Confession and Ellora.
The two bands that went through to the grand final were Amune System and Over Driver.
As well as having the opportunity to play in front of Mushroom Records talent scouts they will be in the running for recording time with Loricco sound studio, CD art work and a CD launch at Radical Records to name a few of the prizes.
Ellora received an encouragement award from Pony Music in Hallam and The Posers received a voucher from Cranbourne Music for the band that attracted the most punters.
Heat three for the Battle of the Bands will be held on Saturday, 16 September and will feature eight young, local acts.
