A SLICK and glossy business prospectus promoting the City of Greater Dandenong as a place to invest, live and do business was launched on Tuesday.
The prospectus, titled Ready to do Business will be distributed throughout the Australian business community via the council’s Economic Development Unit contacts, major financial institutes and property developers.
Economic Development Unit manager Alison Fitzgerald said the brochure was designed to sell the benefits of investing in the south eastern suburbs, and highlights why the area has become home to some of the country’s most innovative businesses.
The prospectus was launched at the site and was printed at Keysborough’s Southern Colour.
There to celebrate the launch was parliamentary secretary for regional development MP Joe Helper.
He said the City of Greater Dandenong was one of the most economically productive areas in Australia.
“It injects $5 billion into the national economy every year, and has truly become Melbourne’s second city.
“Greater Dandenong is home to 40 per cent of Victoria’s manufacturing industries, and we want to ensure that there is plenty of room for further growth,” Mr Helper said.
He referred to the additional 1140 hectares of land the State Government has allocated specifically to industrial growth.
City of Greater Dandenong director of corporate services Ross Hepburn said the challenge was to distribute the information to all potential investors.
“The document says that if you dream of investing in Victoria, Dandenong is the place for you,” Mr Hepburn said.
“It’s a fantastic place to live and raise a family in a multicultural society.”
Ms Fitzgerald said the document contained the latest statistics and information.
