A CHEMICAL spill in Dandenong caused roads to be blocked off in the area on Saturday.
Dandenong Fire Brigade officers were called to the intersection of Cheltenham and Hammond Roads about 8.45am after a 20litre container of hydrochloric acid was found.
They said it was possible the container had fallen from a trailer or truck as the vehicle turned into Hammond Road.
The Hallam HazMat Response Unit attended with their pumper to neutralise the spill.
The chemical spill was neutralised and diluted before being flushed way.
The Metropolitan Ambulance Service and Dandenong police also attended.
